Salle Claude-Champagne
Allow yourself to be seduced by the passionate musical world of Carmen with Rodion Shchedrin’s wittily scored and highly entertaining retelling of Bizet’s opera. With a sly grin and a twinkle in the eye, Shchedrin presents Bizet’s familiar tunes in new costumes and parades them down a completely different catwalk of virtuoso strings and percussion.
Under the direction of conductor and composer Airat Ichmouratov and our talented soloist, Elvira Misbahova, the evening’s program will also feature Ichmouratov’s fiery second viola concerto and sublime Three Romances for viola, harp and strings, as well as Belkin’s intense and refined Symphonic Movement for Strings No. 2.
A truly exhilarating evening to end the season!
